Honesty & Integrity
Here at Greencraft Homes we believe honesty & integrity speak volumes about our character and reliability. It is a cornerstone of the way we do business. These qualities allow people to trust us to help them make the best possible decisions with confidence. These qualities go a long way to making the custom home building process less stressful for everyone involved.
It is really important to be honest when you are talking to your builder. Honesty should always go both ways. You’re looking for it from your builder, so you should give it in return. Here’s what I mean by that: If your budget is $350,000, tell that to the builder. Don’t tell him $300,000 so you can hold back the other $50,000 in case you see something you like later on. Why is withholding the truth a mistake? Because the builder is an expert, and a builder who is trustworthy will help you stretch your dollars and get the most out of them.
You could be missing out on something fantastic because the builder has his head wrapped around the figure of $300,000 instead of $350,000. The builder could very well be thinking, “Wow, if these guys only had a few thousand more to spend, I could do something really spectacular.” But the builder will not say that to the customer, because they are only going by the dollar figure the customer told them.
Importance of Selecting Your Builder
There is little doubt that hiring the right builder could be one of the most important decisions you make. Your builder knows all the tricks of the trade, and their advice can be invaluable especially in the beginning before even choosing your home site. The builder is the person who will make your dreams come true … or will be a frequent source of stress. If your builder is willing to go with you, let the builder help you choose the home site. The experience the builder possesses will help you avoid hidden pitfalls.
